Houston Independence Day 2016 Activities

You may already have plans to spend time with friends and family, however, if you are still looking for some fun activities, check out the list of things going on in Houston this weekend:

Freedom Over Texas featuring Darius Rucker

  • July 4th  4pm – 10pm
  • Eleanor Tinsley Park
  • Cost: $8/person (before July 4); $10/person (day of show)
  • This is Houston’s annual patriotic celebration where you can enjoy country music and an awesome fireworks display. Learn more about the event here!

 

July 4th Celebration at Bayou Bend

  • July 4th  1pm – 5pm
  • Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens
  • Cost: FREE
  • The Museum of Fine Arts Houston invites you to celebrate Independence Day with performers, crafts, activities, refreshments and more. You can hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence on the Diana Terrace of the Bayou Bend house at 3pm and then enjoy some birthday cake. Learn more about the event here!

 

ExxonMobile Summer Symphony Nights: Star-Spangled Salute

  • July 4  8:30pm
  • Miller Outdoor Theatre
  • Cost: FREE
  • Spend your evening enjoying patriotic classics performed by the Houston Symphony and conductor, Steven Reineke. The finale of 1812 Overture will be followed by a fireworks spectacular. Learn more about the event here!

 

4th of July Weekend at CityCentre

  • July 3-5

  • Cost: FREE
  • The 4th of July weekend will include four nights of free concerts plus an Independence Day fireworks display. Learn more about the event here!

 

Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute

  • Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
  • Cost: FREE
  • This event has been a tradition at The Pavilion for over 25 years. The Houston Symphony will perform a selection of patriotic favorites. Learn more about t he event here!
